mini-Andy visits the O2 arena

4:35 PM Andytgeezer

mini-Andy visits the O2 arena, originally uploaded by andytgeezer.

In his first outing, mini-Andy went to Greenwich to see the Millenium Dome O2 arena.

While maxi-Andy went off to dirty his hands on some conservation work at a local ecology park, our new knitted mini-Hero strolled around the shambolic white elephant of London great big tent, and found himself surrounded by all the usual mundane shops that you would find just about anywhere else in London.

Trying not to be too disappointed, our mini-Adventurer left the collosal waste of money and political disaster that was the dome and went for a cup of coffee in a soulless global chain.

If only he had just been a little bigger, he wished, he could have joined maxi-Andy and maxi-Elena in coppicing willows in the conservation area instead. Oh well that'll teach him!

mini-Andy version 2.0

4:34 AM Andytgeezer

mini-Andy version 2.0, originally uploaded by andytgeezer.

This is the new mini-Andy in his second incarnation as a stitch yourself, knitted miniature. Made by mailartist okadascat, the new version of mini-Andy comes complete with envelope addressed to my REAL wall as maxi-Andy is no longer a teacher but a mailartist!

The new Adventures of mini-Andy (Version 2.0) will be renamed "The adventures of mini-Andy (+Friends!)" so that more mini-People can get involved, and mini-Andy can now travel through the post on his own, so if you want to take our miniature Hero out for an adventure, just leave a comment, or send him a request his mini-Twitter stream @miniandy!

mini-Andy in Yorkshire

6:15 AM okadascat
Last week Big-Andy sent me off on a trip to Yorkshire to surprise Okadascat. It’s all very exciting because she is going to give me a knitted make-over! Woohoo! So, while I’m waiting for her to get busy with the knitting needles I thought I’d have a look around.......
This way........

Phew, it's hard work climbing over stiles when you're small

Ooo sheep, wonder if i can get some wool to make my new jumper

Bit chilly for a swim

I've walked such a long way, I need a sit down!
Interesting, a paper mill - maybe thats where some of mini-andy's ancestors were made :-)

Yikes! Spooky grave stones!

This must be where Okadascat posts her mailart

Well, that was a lovely walk but now I think it’s time to be heading home to put my feet up, have a nice cup of tea, a snooze... but wait, is that a pub I spy behind me? ;-)

mini-Andy resurrection day 1 - Solidaridad para el Sáhara

4:24 PM Andytgeezer

mini-Andy resurrection day 1 - Solidaridad para el Sáhara, originally uploaded by andytgeezer.
Its been nearly 8 months since mini-Andy was seen out in public and fans of the miniature adventurer have been wondering what became of their favourite miniature Travelling hero.

Today, after some persuasion, the whereabouts of our mini-Adventurer is revealed and the story of where he has been is finally made public.

After his last trip to Arundel in April of last year, mini-Andy was asked to go to the Sahara desert in Algeria for the 6th Sahara film festival with maxi-Andy.

The Sahara film festval is an internationally recognised festival that takes place in a refugee camp deep in the desert in the Spanish-speaking Sahara, and it has a fascinating history.

33 years ago, a tribe of people called the Saharawi lived in the Western Sahara on a lush piece of land, until one day the neighbours ,Morocco invaded and took the lush land for themselves, evicting the native people to the desert.

To make sure that they stayed there, the Moroccan government built a wall seperating the people from the land of their birth, and heavily landmined the border.

The Saharawi were left without land or nationality surrounded by deadly landmines and have been without rights in the desert in need of aid since.

The Spanish government has been unwilling to talk to the Moroccan government about the situation due to diplomatic ties, such as the fact that many Spanish fishermen fish in Moroccan waters among other things.

The film festival was put on to bring the plight of the Saharawi to the world stage and they've had some international stars trek out into the middle of the desert to voice their support for the cause, like Javier Bardem.

Now mini-Andy has decided to come out of hiding and add his mini-Voice to the fray and show solidarity with the Saharawi people and their cause, asking you to lobby for freedom for the Saharawi people and the removal of the Wall of Shame, that seperates them from their home.

Every year, the frustration of their plight leads some Saharawi to try and storm the wall, often resulting in landmine-inflicted deaths and injuries.

mini-Andy's present state reflects that of these victims, the hidden tragedy of colonisation in a faraway land.

Today, by showing himself and his state proudly to the world, our mini-Adventurer begins his road to recovery.

Adventures in Arundel

5:28 AM mini-Andy
After a month away with High Hell Girl, our mini-Adventurer decided to take a bit of time out and head down to West Sussex to have a look around the castle and get away from any suggestion of kinky sub-dom pleasure.

It was one of the nicest castles in the whole of the UK he thought, and even though it cost 15 quid for a ticket he figured that it was a bargain anyway. Something was still on our mini-Adventurer's mind as he walked the corridors once trodden by Mary Queen of Scots in bygone years.

Suddenly he turned a corner and it all became clear. Staring transfixed at the hole in the ground, the Gang and maxi-Andy could do nothing to snap our mini-Male Pedestal out of the trance he had entered.

What happened to the little-Geezer had clearly left it's mark. Even though she hadn't left any marks on the outside, it seems that High-Heel Girl had left her mark on our mini-Experimentalist's mind in a much more profound way.

It took the awesome power of Elena, maxi-Andy's new girlfriend to drag him away from that place, flushed and bothered as he was.

I suspect that High Heel Girl has taken our mini-Hero to places that most maxi-Men wouldn't dare to tread.

12th April 2009

Miss HHG let me nibble at her Easter egg today... and tomorrow I go back home to Geezer.  I'll miss her! I wonder if she'll let me go with her into the underworld again one night?

Au revoir, HighHeelGirl!

8:34 AM Jools

26th March 2009

Miss HHG told me today that we were to go on a trip away... I find it harder and harder to say "no Miss" to her!

I was trepidatious but strangely excited as she wrapped me in her black silk scarf for the journey to London. Why *had* she taken all those shoes?

All would soon become clear as she unpacked...

"We're going to a place called Pedestal tonight, sweetie" she told me, "And we'll soon find a use for all those shoes!"

How could I tell her I'd be in heaven? I'd had this 'thing' for beautiful feminine shoes and feet ever since I was accidentally dropped in Dolcis as an even-minier-andy. I had been lost among the rows and tiers of footwear, dodging the high heels as they came perilously close to me, fearful yet oddly fascinated. It'd been 3 days before I was found and by then - I was a changed mini.  I'd kept this a secret all my life and yet... Miss HHG knew!

8:28 AM Jools

23rd March 2009

I have got a slight memory lapse. I can't remember what we did last night... all I can recall is that we started the night off with some drinkies and after that it's a little fuzzy. I think Miss HHG introduced me to someone called Miss K.B. Barbie.

What the hell does "come into my boudoir, mon petit André-jouet"  mean? It's all I can recall. And where did those strange markings on my back and knees come from? I am perplexed....

24th March 2009

Oh dear... it's all coming back to me in its Ricard-soaked, pavement-kissing awfulness. Miss HHG kindly gave me some Alka-seltzer.

8th-20th March 2009

I've travelled down to the deepest darkest depth of Somerset with Miss HHG. She does have some very interesting friends. I can't tell why they are smiling at me in a pitying fashion?  Anyhow Laa-Laa got the drinks in, Aniseed was always one of my fave flavours!

3rd March 2009

I slept well last night - gently snoring under a snowy crisp duvet next to Miss HHG. She's been nothing but sweetness and light.  Perhaps I was worrying unnecessarily...

Into the abyss....

8:15 AM Jools

2nd March 2009

Usually I let maxi-andy be my amenuensis but for my recent travels, I need to write first-hand.

I trustingly, even eagerly, agreed to go and stay with HighHeelGirl for a short sojourn. Little did I know what was awaiting little me over the next month!

It started innocently enough, over Hot-Sour soup at Wong Kei. I should have known that Miss HHG's choice of menu was a big clue in itself.....

mini-Andy's recent trip to Egypt left many fans in his wake and rumour has it that people are speaking to each other in Arabic about how awesome he is!

Here are some fan photos submitted to the site by the Egyptian fans...

A new branch of the mini-Andy fanclub has also recently opened down in Canterbury in the UK

mini-Andy goes wild in Chinatown Lomo style

7:31 PM mini-Andy
Where better for mini-Andy, our favourite miniaturised Asian science teacher to go for dinner when in London, than Soho, London's Chinatown. Indeed, when in Chinatown where better to go than Wong Kei, consistently voted "Rudest restaurant in London"

Armed with only a 4 frame Lomo action sampler, our mini-Diner decided that with his unlimited charm he would easily win over London's rudest waiters. But of course not, no-one ever gets a polite word out of those boys, not even our mini-James Bond.

After a customary Won Ton Noodle soup, and a good row with the waiters, our pint-sized hero had to take in a nice green tea and calm down

How this place ever got the Vanessa Feltz Seal of Approval is beyond the comprehension of his little newspaper mind...

Approved by Vanessa Feltz!

mini-Nubian adventure in Aswan

4:53 PM mini-Andy
While travelling in Aswan with maxi-Andy and pals, our mini-Adventurer caught the attention of a maxi-Nubian sailor with crazy dreadlocks and ting, called Ibrahim.

Ibrahim was a very kindly Nubian feluca captain and invited mini-Andy back to stay for the night in his Nubian village on an island somewhere in the Nile. Armed with maxi-Andy's spare camera, mini-Andy and Ibrahim took off for the night and explored the depths of Nubia, in a way that only mini-Andy could.

After a few drinks and some sheesha, mini-Andy and maxi-Ibrahim had to find their way to the island in the middle of the night by boat, a task made much easier by the fact that mini-Andy is an accomplished rower.

After landing on the island and taking a short rest, mini-Andy was invited by the locals to get down to a game of cards, which he obviously won hands down, as no-one could see through his awesome poker face.

After having cleaned up at cards, mini-Andy was invited to all see the village elders.

After this little formality, our mini-Adventurer stopped off to meet and greet the Nubian children, who loved him and didn't want to let him out of their sight!

It didn't take him long at all to make himself at home and pretty soon he was part of the family.

Some of the guys took the opportunity to learn from our mini-Adventurer's vast world knowledge and wisdom and he talked at length about philosophy and Barbie dolls, two subjects for which our mini-Descartes is a known world authority.

The next morning after breakfast, our mini-Diplomat was out in the thick of it as usual, happily talking to the maxi-guys and girls all the same.

Sadly the time had come for our mini-Adventurer to get back to maxi-Andy who's hectic schedule meant that he could only stay for a single day on the Nubian island.

Ibrahim rowed on the way back, while our mini-Travel addicted papier mache pal bathed in the glorious Egyptian sun.
