I thought the baby gorilla on this billboard was really cute on Saturday in Barcelona. I need to get a gig like that modeling. Contact me on Facebook to advertise your product!

Jen and I are having late night tapas in a great bar and restaurant in Barcelona. I'm glad they made me banana bravas!

The plains of Extremadura

1:24 PM mini-Andy

Quick trip to Montfrague national park in Extremadura for our mini-Adventurer, where he hiked through the plains and tried to avoid being scooped up and eaten by eagles!

Yikes!

Keeping in shape for the next big adventure

3:54 PM mini-Andy

In between adventures mini-Andy has been keeping fit in the pool and climbing trees in Extremadura, Western Spain.

Now he is almost unrecognisable with his rippling muscles beneath that matt-painted exterior.

Let's just run away

Listen to some classic Frank Hamre, authorised for your listening pleasure by the great man himself.

Enjoy!

mini-Andy and his gigantic friends

mini-Andy does hang out with some interesting characters and for some reason most of them are bigger than him. Here he is with some of the maxi-pals he met in Barcelona...

mini-Andy goes sightseeing in Barcelona

3:34 AM mini-Andy

After a night on the town with the skateboarding boys, our mini-Adventurer thought he'd have a look around the great city of Barcelona in Northern Spain.

Realising that a bit of the local lingo might come in handy, our mini-Linguist picked up a book on Spanish grammar and headed straight to an open terraza to get a glass of zumo de naranja and study the preterito imperfecto.

After a few hours reading, and after mastering three different past tenses he came to the startling realisation that the people of Barcelona speak a different language called Catalan so, throwing his book in his bag he set off to see the sights instead armed with his Canon EOS 20D.

(At this point I would like to point out that product placement is a bad and evil thing that is not looked on kindly in the mini-Andy offices, but in the case of Canon photographic products the mini-Editorial team are willing to make an exception.)

Among the many interests that mini-Andy has in that little body of his is an interest in architecture and Barcelona was the home to one of the greatest Modernist architects that ever lived, the Catalan Antoni Gaudi

In the flesh, mini-Andy was incredibly impressed with Gaudi's architecture, which fused elements of Gothic and Classical Spanish architectural styles with an organic quality.

Our mini-Hero then took a trip up Las Ramblas to see the Columbus monument at the center of the Plaça de la Porta de Pau. This was erected 1888 to commemorate the visit of Christopher Columbus in 1493 after the discovery of the Americas.

The statue is 7m high, but the great man was made to look rather small when stood next to our mini-hero!

From here, mini-Andy briefly visited the Naval Museum

Then he went down to Barceloneta, the lovely beach which is usually totally packed in the summer months. Because it was the middle of winter, out mini-Sunseeker had the beach all to himself. Yay!

A few more buildings later and mini-Andy was ready to call it a day.

Phew. What an exciting place! Thought our mini-Hero as he made his way back to the hostel to down a nice pint.

What a day!

mini-Andy skates Barcelona

2:09 PM mini-Andy
On hearing that Barcelona was one of the world's Meccas for skateboarding, our miniature hero couldn't resist a cheeky visit with his maxi-Namesake.

After a tiring 9 hour overnight coach trip from Madrid, our mini-Hero booked in to a hostel near Barcelona Sant station, where he proved to be a hit with the ladies.

Being the little miniature geezer that he is, mini-Andy quickly made good friends with some local skaters, who offered to show him a few tricks and pretty soon he was on his way to the world-famous Sant station concourse to try out some grinds and ollies.

Our miniature hero was a natural, and it was only a matter of minutes before he had mastered the Sausage grind and Stalefishgrab so, deciding not to show up his hosts he retired to the sidelines to watch the professionals catch some air.

The sun went down and the vibes were good all night long, as heelflips and noseslides went down all round the concourse, and at the end of it, our mini-Adventurer went back to the hostel happy with his new pals to knock back a couple of well deserved drinks.

Pottering around the house

1:35 PM mini-Andy
Since coming back from New Zealand and Korea, mini-Andy has simply contented himself with sitting in front of the TV in Madrid watching Spanish quiz shows

and improving his piano skills.

If only the keys were a little closer together his mini-Hands wouldn't have so much trouble putting together chords...

mini-Andy goes Basketballing

2:35 AM mini-Andy

On Tuesday, my family and me went to the basketball match, and we adopted mini-Andy for that night.

At 9 o clock the game started, but we got there earlier, we got there one and a half hours before the game started, because my dad is the assistant coach.

Once the game started, mini-Andy got his own seat in the front row!!

In the first quarter, mini-Andy got a bit hungry so when we got to our break we went to buy some popcorn and sweets.

In the middle of the game, mini-Andy was cheering with joy and clapping for The Real Madrid.

Once the game was over, mini-Andy went out to shoot some hoops (I helped him a bit) and a few minutes later people were asking for his autograph!

It took a long time for my dad to come out so mini-Andy waited on the bench nicely and quiety!

Once he got off the bench, my father came out and mini-Andy asked my father if he could have some cool pictures, so my dad said yes.

mini-Andy had a lovely time, I am hoping to adopt him for a longer time next time I take him.

mini-Andy goes for an Indian

2:59 PM mini-Andy
It's been a long first week back at work for mini-Andy and so when he was invited to go out for a curry on Friday night he jumped at the chance.

He's got a big appetite for such a small fella and he managed to put away a huge plate of Lamb Biryani AND an Aloo Gobi all of which he ordered by himself!

As you can see, mini-Andy is just like the rest of us and there's nothing he appreciates more than a nice cerveza at the end of the working week - CHEERS!

Just before getting metro line 4 home, mini-Andy couldn't help noticing the life-size and totally realistic picture of India on the wall.

Another day another adventure for our mini-Hero!

mini-Andy and the Skeletons in the cupboard

1:03 PM mini-Andy
When mini-Andy arrived back from his recent trip to New York he was shocked to find that his lab had been invaded by a huge skeleton.

Unfortunately for mini-Andy, it wasn't a very clever or friendly skeleton and he was very hungry. He clearly hadn't eaten for days and you could see his bones and everything!

Because the skeleton had no brain he wasn't able to think.

Mistaking mini-Andy for a tasty morsel of skeleton food, the big nasty skeleton picked up our mini-Adventurer and proceeded to swallow him whole!

It looked for a minute like mini-Andy was in big trouble as he fell into the nasty skeletons rib cage.

How was our mini-Adventurer going to escape from this one!?

From the inside of the skeleton, mini-Andy had an idea.

"What a silly skeleton" thought mini-Andy, "Imagine trying to eat someone when you don't have any form of digestive system whatsoever!"

Realising that the skeleton had somewhat overlooked this vital point, mini-Andy planned his escape and executed it with military precision.

Firstly, he located the vertebral column and got a good foothold on the medial thoracic vertabrae.

After traversing the lumbar vertabrae, mini-Andy took a brief rest at the hip before making his way down the right thigh, over the patella (or knee-cap) and down the tibia, before breaking for freedom!

Run mini-Andy! Run and don't look back!

mini-Andy goes to Carnival

12:55 AM mini-Andy
mini-Andy took time off out of the Lab on Tuesday to visit the year 1 carnival and had a great time!

While there he met lots of really interesting people including Harry Potter and Spiderman!!

But all this partying is harder than it looks, and by the end of the day, mini-Andy was tired and needed to go and relax.

So he took some time out, went for a coffee or two

then went off to listen to some hot tunes and buy the latest album by The Bargains.
